The plans for constructing the Thai canal have no clear plans. The china is pressuring the Thailand in negotiating the approval for the canal project. The approval for the construction of Nicaragua canal is stopped and thinking about the implications for the region if the Kra canal is constructed. The trade relations between the china and ASEAN for many years, the trade rose from 54.8 billion dollars to 443.6 billion dollars from 2002 to 2014. The investment is growing 4 times with the total of about 100 billion dollars. The relations and the accumulated wealth because of economic and trade growth, people consider that the construction of Thai canal will be at affordable rate.
