3.1.Recognize that power is present in all communication
There is a strong need to ensure a high level of communication among different departments of the hospital because a high level of communication is necessary to inform all the departments about such incidents. There is a need to change the communication structurein the hospital because it is the factor that leads towards this particular incident. There should be any sort of alarm with fire doors so that in case of any incident all the relevant employees and staff on duty get informed about something incidental has happened. In addition to this whenever there is no one monitoring the condition of patients in terminal stages some sort of incident could take place. So, there is a need on the part of nurses to inform each other and communicate in time whenever they are leaving the patient unattended (Acker, 2006).In that particular case the nurses left the patient unattended even after having viewed that the partner of the patient was also sleeping and there was no one in the ward to take care of her. So, it indicates that there is a need to communicate in time with other nurses whenever there is need to left the patient unattended to attend some other patient at that particular point of time (Sunderland, 2004). Lack of communication is also reflected by the fact that Head of nurses who was not on duty was not informed about the incident in time rather she came to know about the incident after reaching the hospital.
3.2.Breakdown regimes of inequality
Proper counselling of families of patientsis also necessary to breakdown the regimes of inequality. There is need to provide equal treatment to all the staff members irrespective to their genders. It has been observed that men are treated differently from women and this factor contributes to change the outlook of society about gender. Counselling is a technique that can effectively change the outcomes of all the procedures that are undertaken by any particular organization (Parsons, 2008).
