- Healthcare: From the analysis of financial statements, it can be overviewed that the revenue from healthcare services of the company was slightly lowered in the year 2013 as compared to the revenues in year 2012. In contrast to this, segment profit from the health care services increased by 4% in the year 2013 due to increased productivity and volume of services and was ultimately utilized to offset the negative effects of inflation and strong US dollar.
- Transportation: Revenues of GE Company from transportation services showed an increase of 5% during the year 2013 as a result of lower prices and higher rates of US dollar. On the other hand, segment profit from the same services also increased by 13% in the year 2013 due to the negative effects of higher volume, deflation and increased productivity.
- Lighting and other appliances: Revenues from this particular product and its related services increased by 4% and 5% in the year 2012 and 2013 respectively. This increase in the revenues reflected higher prices of lighting and other appliances which was partially offset by the lower volume of sales during that particular year.
