The major claim made by this article is that proper leadership is the basic requirement for any organization to grow. It is not management alone which runs an organization. The author has mentioned that management can provide a favourable environment for the organization to flourish but organizations require steady leadership to make management a success. The paper talks about four kinds of leadership levers which are necessary to make a good leader. These are vision, values, handling mistakes and influencing skills. The author makes some novel points with respect to management and leadership. The author differentiates between management and leadership with a very pertinent point. The author says that management has constrains due to legalities involved with the management of any organization whereas leadership is individual based. The leader should have an open mind and a clear vision. In the article one can feel that the author considers leadership position above the management position. The author is more prejudiced against management positions. However the author also thinks that leadership is nothing but an extension of good management. The author says that in spite of managing a project properly in all the organizations, the projects fail. This is a clear indication of the fact that leadership is required to make management work. The author has brought in a new concept of leadership by considering it as an extension of management. The four levers form the foundation of leadership. The management is considered to be the science and leadership is considered to be an art (Garvin, 2012).
