What conclusions could have been derived if the authors were to consider men as the sole authority of a family, and that land ownership to men is assumed to be the land ownership to women? However, the research does not mention clearly the status of unmarried women and their rights on ancestral land ownership. Women are no doubt an important part of society, but their land rights fulfilment differ vastly in many countries across the world, most of which is because of the country’s traditional culture which dictates the position and conduct of women.
