In 2005 Yahoo acquired Flickr. Subsequent to acquiring this company, yahoo photos services were shut down. It was reported that it cost Yahoo, 22 to 25 million dollars to gain acquisition of the services. There is no official confirmation of the price paid by Yahoo to Ludicorp (Hu, 2005). Nevertheless it was rumoured to be around this margin. All the user information was subsequently migrated to Flickr server.
