Salaries of the staff members: This includes the provision of giving the financial compensation for the management. The staffs in the OST may include the executive director, associate director, program coordinator, activity leaders and also for the administrative and support staff. The administrative staff includes the security and custodial personal along with the value of volunteer time.
Benefits: The different costs includes some of the out of pocket expenditures including the health insurance, paid sick leaves and the leaves, paid vacation, unemployment insurance, retirement related accounts and the subsidies for parking and transportation.
The cost of space and utilities: The cost involved in space and utilities may include the things such as the rent, the maintenance and the cost related to repair for the facilities along with the cost related to the utilities.
Cost related to the administration: These are the costs which includes the non-labor expenses with may be associated with some of the program operations which includes the office equipment and the supplies, printing and accounting, payroll, insurance liability which include the community outreach and the contracted services.
Transportation related costs: These are some of the costs which include the busing children and youth to different activities and the field trips. Some of the smaller costs may include the staff training.
Stipend of the students: This is dispensed to participating youths for the purpose of internship or for the appreciation.
Other costs: Some of the other costs may include the expenses which are incurred in the items such as the meals or the snacks, the staff related training and other miscellaneous expenditures. These also include the expenditures such as the meals, the materials, the staff training and much other expenditure.
If we talk about the cost element, around 15 % of the overall amount is spend in the costs which is related to the program, around 13 % of the cost is utilized for getting the space and the utilities and around 8 % of the overall cost is spend in the purpose of transportation (Anthony et al., 2009). But, if the average is considered, it can be found that the transportation involves a lower cost in comparison to the regular costs (Lind et al., 2007). A major factor which plays an important role in the same is the geographical location.
